Even with current volatility in global market, chances of a recession remains low, says Geoff Lewis, Global Strategist, capital markets at Manulife Asset Management. However, Lewis doesn’t expect any change in market sentiments in short term. Situation in China, Iran, Saudia Arabia make a perfect storm for headlines, but investors should not panic and could use the situation to up risk in the markets, he says. Lewis advises that one must remain diversified and focus on big picture like global PMI, which is in expansion mode still. Seth R Freeman of EM Capital Management, LLC also believes that the current situation is a good opportunity to increase holdings in EMs like India.
