The combined use of proper Probiotics and Ayurveda is termed Proyurveda™. The Probiotics (beneficial micro-organisms) survive long time when blended with herbs because herbs are antioxidants. Such Proyurveda™ preparations exhibit enhanced activity and effectiveness without any side effects. Probiotics are stimulated with the aid of Ayurvedic herbs and the Ayurvedic herbal activity is also enhanced due to Probiotics. This improves the efficiency of both Probiotics and Ayurveda herbs to cure diseases and help support functions of the organs in the human body. Satksheera is the name used for freeze dried or dried milk grown probiotics.
Probiotics are beneficial microbial cultures which reside naturally in the human gastro intestinal tract as normal flora. The word Probiotics is derived from two Greek words "Pro" and "Bios" meaning "for life". The most familiar probiotic is lactobacillus acidophilus, which is found in yogurt. The USFDA has granted them GRAS (generally regarded as safe) status. Probiotics improve and protect the human health. They are considered organic, all- natural, and by taxonomical definition, belong to the plant kingdom. These Probiotic organisms produce enzymes to digest the simple and complex carbohydrates, complex proteins etc thereby greatly improving the digestion. In addition, they also inhibit the unwanted bacteria in the G.I tract. Modern foods that contain preservatives, dyes, etc are not beneficial to the gastro intestinal flora, especially Probiotics. Consequently, in order to maintain and ensure proper gastro intestinal flora, continuous or periodic supplementation of Probiotics is a must.
